Hey everyone,

I MUST replace the PS Pump on my 60, and I am kinda sure that the lines must have crap/junk in them, and I don't want to F'up a NEW pump. So how many lines do I have and where should I get them? I know that I have a high pressure hose but what else? HAs everyone been getting them from Napa? Any help?

Thanks,
Zack

1. High Pressure Line from pump to steering box
. . .Gates Rubber makes one, about 40 bucks at parts store
. . .Toyota wants 300 bucks...

2. Low pressure line from steering box to a cooler tube mounted under radiator

3. Low pressure line from cooler to pump resivour (I kain't schpell dem french woids)

The low pressure tube you can get at any hydrolic supply shop, buy X feet & cut your own.
Gasoline line will work in a pinch....for a long, long time....

Did it come with the thread ends on the hose or you just reuse the old threaded ends? What part store did you get it at?

Thanks

The high pressure hose is like $20 at a parts store (Napa etc etc) and while you're there pick up a transmission cooler for a small car $30. Then run fuel line from the return line off of your steering gear... through that and back to the pump. The toyota cooler line rusted through on my truck and before it did it ate 2 pumps (one toy one chevy) since I put the cooler on it's worked awsome. So for about $50 and an afternoon you won't have to mess with this again.

Hose clamps wouldn't work on a high pressure line. I think I remember that Toyota's pump was somewhere in the neighborhood of 700PSI so yes the ends on that line are already made onto it.
