How far does the 24 gal LRA tank sit below the frame rails?

I know I've seen a picture of this on Mud somewhere but I can only find 40 gal examples now in the threads when I search. I am considering doing the rear bumper chop like @FlightMedic178 and am just trying to visualize how much of the tank you would see with the chop. The tank is a future maybe but this chop or a new bumper is going to happen soon.

While this is oartiallyobscured by my Slee bumper, you can see where tthe 24’sLowest point sits in relation to the rear diff height, etc.

**The good news for your application is that it tapersupoward as it extends bach toward the tow hitch...so it’s clearance dramatically heightens toward the back. If you are fully exposed, it would create a pretty clean look. If you armor the bottom as I did, (importer Valley Hybrids up armored mine for a VERY reasonable cost), it would look nice and be strong in case you mahaged to hit it. I have hit everything under my truck EXCEPT the tank. I think it would work welll.

Thanks. What I like about the chop is that it raises the clearance to the bottom of the frame rails which is as high as possible without chopping the frame itself. Your Slee really isn't that much lower, maybe an inch or two. With the chop, I think you would definitely see the tank, especially from the side. From a functional standpoint, the tapered tank surface might actually be better if you were to hit something close to the rear axle.

my apologies here if i am tagging in on the wrong thread for my question. i have an 01 lx and am looking at the lra 24 aux tank to add. given the added weight of the fuel, tank, and anticipated armor, do i need to consider suspension changes for the oem rear? i have the upgraded lca's from slee, need to keep my ahc (for health reasons), a rig'd swing arm with km3 285/65r18 (on trd pro wheel), and all three slee skid plates (one steel, 2 alum). thank you

If you add a LRA tank and rear bumper, you will definitely need to change the rear springs from OEM. A full LRA and swing out style bumper is a lot of weight.

thank you. any ideas as to what the new rear spring rate should be?

First figure out everything you plan on adding to your truck and the weight of typical gear and people. Then call a 4x4 outfitter company like Slee and ask for advice. If you like the advice and they have what I r looking for buy from them. It is best to do everything at once if you can. Don’t buy stiff springs now for future added weight. The good news is that rear springs are not that expensive and are pretty easy to install.

there are also lots of threads on this topic if you search. OME springs are popular. Once you have some idea of what you want post a new thread asking for feedback.
