How do you tell if a glow plug is cactus

I ahve a mate who has a hard time starting his diesel in the morning.
Heaps of white smoke comes out the exhaust b4 it fires.

How can you tell a good from a bad glow plug with a multimeter.

We have voltage on the rail

Pull the plug and check for resistance between the end where the rail connects and the part that threads in the block. 0 ohms is good infinite ohms is bad.

Tks cruiser guy u were right on mate.

Only 2 of the 6 were ok, no wonder it was a little hard to start. (needed a jug of boiling water every morning)


All good now 1/2 a turn and Vaaroooommmm!!!!
