Looking for a cheap roofrack. Not overland capable. Looks like on a gx outside to outside on my rails is 4t" or so. Is that how I measure for a cheap roof rack. Don't need a $1500k prinx or. Looking to spend abput $500.
I have rails but no crossbars. What else do I need? Or do I just strap em to cross bars and call it a day even though that looks crappy

So 45" wide by 70" or so. Probably should make it shorter so I can open my sunroof if I want. Basically I want some functionality but also look tough.

Buys expensive luxury SUV...too cheap and lazy to search for 5 minutes on internet for roof rack options...makes 3rd grade level drawing for others to decipher.... should IH8 members should step in and save this poor GX from redneckery or make popcorn and watch the show?

Just do everyone else on the road who might be impacted by your creation failing a favor and buy a proven setup. These aren't too expensive and should do the trick for you.

Finding These Took Me 2 Minutes

You'll need to get rid of the roof rails if you're getting a proper roof rack because you'll be bolting into the existing 6 mounts on the roof.
You may want to remove the rails and measure, then you'll know what you need and can do a proper Google search.

Thank you R2m. I am going to head over to the local Rack attack store which is a block from my house. I'm gonna see what their expensive options are and see how I might be able to cut costs. Thanks for your response!
