I want to get one of the bolts for the third row anchor out, but this large piece of plastic is obstructing it’s removal. Do I need to trim the plastic or can this piece be removed temporarily?

That big piece of plastic is an air duct FYI.
Pics from when I was finding the hidden nuts in my HE.
Maybe this helps.

I want to clarify so I don't contribute to a mistake. I should not have been so quick to comment. I trimmed some plastic away from the top of a bolt in my 2013. It was the only way to access it. I experienced no issues. This is the location I trimmed on the driver side. I did the same trimming on the the passenger side. I do not own a HE.

I did the same on my 2018 LC. Needed to use those to secure some drawers. Quick use of a Dremel and all good.

Could you also temporarily remove the plastic ducting? Or is that too big a job? I hate hacking into things...

I looked at this a while back when removing my third row.

You could, but "temporary" would end up being hours of work disassembling other things. Full interior side panel removal on both sides, for instance. Wasn't close to worth it for me.

Good insight. Thanks!
