I recently replaced the turn signals and parking lights with LEDs, but now the parking light appears yellowish due to the plastic piece that surrounds the bulb in the headlight housing (see attached pic). Is there anyway I can remove this plastic piece without opening the headlight? It looks like there's only 2 screws that attach it to the chrome reflector but I'd have to open the housing to get to it. I've thought about using a dremel to cut it just above the screws and pull it out through the bulb hole but that would leave the 2 screws in there. Are there any other options I could consider?

Did you ever figure out a way to remove the plastic without opening the headlight?

@bctlex I have not, at least not without baking open the headlight. I've just left it alone but if you find away please share!

Now that I have installed my LED, this really bugs me, but baking the headlight kinda scares me haha...

Just thinking out loud here, wonder if I can just cut up the plastic piece, and get it out piece by piece. Will update the thread if I find a way.

@bctlex I bet if you got a Dremel with a small cutting wheel that could fit into housing you could cut the legs off of the plastic piece. I think the screws are hopeless unless you bake it open.

@TheForger I was thinking using dremel with small cutting wheel. Two things thats giving me a pause: 1. I do not have steady hands. One slip, and I will be cutting the reflector or glass. 2. I am concerned that cutting the plastic using dremel will produce tiny plastic particles/dust that will be difficult to clean inside the headlight.

I was thinking using some sort of small, long wire cutter or something similar which would give me more control where to cut.

I am ok leaving the screw inside. It cant be seen unless I am inches from the headlight.
