Hi Guys

I figured I'd post this up in a separate section to avoid hi-jack...

I've actually been in the hospital since Thrusday. I have had a bad headache all week and took a couple of days off work. I was feeling alright on Wed and actually went down to Charlotte for work and back, but on Thrusday morning at work I was having difficulty speaking and just was acting kinda goofy - having difficulty finding common words etc.

I took myself to WakeMed in Apex and after fading in and out a couple times being unable to communicate or read and after having a cat scan with a noticible brain mass they wanted to admit to the Neuro unit at WakeMed's main campus in RDU. I've had an MRI and there is a pretty large mass on the left side of my head behind my ear.

I've been here for the past couple days, have had multiple tests and everything but have been pretty much ok - no problems, no pain, etc.

They are treating me like a stroke patient, but find it hard to believe, especially since I'm 25. So we're not sure what's going to happen - maybe some a MRI Spec and then a possible biopsy or a spinal tap.

We're supposed to hear more today. I ask that you just pray for me that I have a full recovery and just continue to pray for my wife, Janet, for continued peace.

Both sets of our parents came in town and the dog and FJC are taken care of...but it still isn't ideal.

I still want to make it out west for the ride this month - but I'll probably have to play it be ear over the next few weeks. We'll see what happens - hope to talk to yall again soon.

Jared

Another Charlotte prayer for you here!!! Get better soon.

Wow Jared, I am very very sorry to hear this. Hopefully the good doctors will figure this out quickly and you'll be back to 100% in no time. Susana and I will be thinking about you and Janet and hoping for a speedy, healthy return.

Hi Jared, we'll be praying for you and your family. If you need anything at all give me a call.

Is it ok for you to have visitors? I would imagine you don't want to be overwhelmed with visitors, but I know it's not real fun to be sitting around in the hospital. If you'd like a visitor let me know (pm or call is fine if you like) and I'll definitely come by.

Praying for you Jared. As per everyone else, let us know if you need help with dogs, or meals or whatever!

Ditto - let us know if it's ok to stop by, if you want or need anything I'd be happy to bring it by.

Quick update

We just talked with all 3 doctors. Really nothing new - I'm doing fine, they discontinued fluids and my heart monitor so that's nice, don't have to wear a gown anymore.

Looks like I'm going to be here til at least Monday evening. On monday I'll have a MRI Spectroscopy a relatively new technique (year or 2 old)...apparently they don't do it on the weekends - but they don't want to let me leave until they figure out whats up.

I think we're all taken care of with both sets of parents in town - If you've got free time you're more than welcome to come by, but I'm not taking roll by any means though.
I'm at WakeMed downtown, they can steer you my way.

I'm doing fine and in good spirits - wish I wan't here, but it'll be fine.

Glad to hear you are doing better. You have some of the best doctors in the country in that area. I'm sure they will figure it out and hopefully it is a strange anomoly that never returns.

Hope you get well soon and we are wishing you the best and a quick recovery from our household.

God bless and Gods speed to your recovery.

Marco

Jared, I had something similar happen to me a couple of years ago right before a URE trip. I had been gradually losing me eyesight and getting unbearable headaches after several doctor visits a mri revealed I had a tumor that was pressing on my optic nerves, and as the tumor grew it pressed harder and harder on the optic nerves causing my eyesight to slowly fade away. It had caused me to be almost totally blind in my left eye. Right now they are treating it with medicine and the tumor is shrinking and I have gotten alot of my eyesight back and I owe it all to God, keep praying as there will be lots of folks here praying for you as well and things will work out. Give me a call If I can help at all 336-314-8698.

Our thought and prayers for you and your family.

Wow man that's scary ! ! !
May God be with you and with your family and especially the medical folks.
May the Great Healer do work a mighty work in you head. May any trace of malignancy be banished.
May you come out of this healed and restored.
