Hey there, I am looking to replace my lines with bulk hydraulic hoses, but trying to determine the sizes I need.
I see that a 3/8" hose fits the bottom of the radiator, but appears that the lines going to the cooler is 1/2".
Thanks!

Toyota still makes all of the trans cooler pre-bent hoses.

Looking at prices, I am seeing $300 for 5 hoses...ugh. And the size of OEM is a weird 13/32 or .40". 3/8 hose is too small.
I don't see the job any harder using generic hose except sourcing and cutting (negligible compared to me replacing the steering rack right now lol).

I replaced all of mine with OEM and absolutely did not pay anything close to $300. Maybe $100 total, but probably not even that much.

Correction - I paid $173 for all trans cooler hoses and lines, and that included the 2 hard lines behind the grill. Without those 2 hard lines total cost was $122 for the 5 OEM Toyota hoses.

Do you have the part numbers you ordered handy. A bunch of the ones I just ordered to do during the engine swap came back as NLA.

Did you figure it out? I'm debating between bulk 3/8" and 7/16"

Bulk hoses are pretty rigid and may not give the desired flexibility on shorter connections.

They're all metric. 3/8" will work out to 9.5mm or so—too small for the 10mm hoses that go from transmission to the bottom of the radiator, for example.

I just replaced a 3/8 line at the bottom of my radiator (trail fix, cut a line on the trail and was just pumping ATF out)...it barely fit on in the first place, and had to be cut off with a razor for replacement.

IMO the hassle isn't worth it—$100 or whatever for lines that last another 20 years is relatively inexpensive. If you're dead set on finding bulk hose, look for metric hose.
