While I'm replacing some of the emissions tubing I had to cut off, I'm noticing that it is about 7/8" (I assume either 22 or 23mm) in diameter. Seeing as this tubing is nothing special, nor are the runs particularly twisty, I'd like to just use some standard tubing and not pay some $40 for OEM tubing.

Seems like everyone has 1" tubing, but not so much the former. What is the tolerance for tubing? Can I cinch it down an eighth of an inch, or is that not recommended? It would seem that 1/8" is a bit much, at least for a coolant application.

Got any sources for tubing in larger diameters such as these?

When I replace dall my smog hosese on my 60 their were all preformed hoses if my mind serves me correctly... So not sure what hoses you're talking about...?

Yes, they're preformed if you buy OEM. Some of the shorter or twistier hoses look like OEM would be more recommended--but there are some hoses that just don't seem like they'd be much improved if they were premolded.

I used some tubing on the air rail down to exhuast which I got at home depot. It was the hose for garbage disposals. 7/8" sounds right.
