Horn shorted out and AC gone

So late one night this past weekend during the big storms here in the South East, I wake up to my car horn just on full blast blaring, I get out to the cae and start pulling the connecting wires to all my horns and the far passenger side one was smoking and seemed like it was causing all the noise, so I pulled it's wires and got the horn off. Next day I get in my car and my AC will not work at all. Nothing shows on the display for it and the thermometer next to the clock is gone also, any ideas? I don't think I pulled any wrong wires by the horns buy it was 4am and I was tired and in the rain. Any ideas or suggestions?

I'll guess that whatever water damage/short circuits that caused the horn to start going off also damaged/shorted the HVAC system. Clean/dry/check fuse boxes and fuses, especially those where the horn and HVAC system fuses are. Look for water in the truck or under the hood in places it shouldn't be. Double check you didn't pull any extra wires loose. Disconnect the battery for a while and dry things out inside the truck. When you reconnect the battery, hit the AUTO button on the HVAC system to see if it will turn on again. That's all I got right now. But do some searching and you'll find other ideas.

This exact thing just happened to me. I'm sitting on the couch watching YouTube and drinking a beer, mildly annoyed at whichever idiot outside is letting their car horn go off full blast, when my girlfriend calls from her parking spot outside to tell me that it is indeed my vehicle's horn that has been going off full blast for the past 90 minutes. I ran outside, mildly hesitant to open the door with the fear that I was going to find an upstanding member of Salt Lake's massive homeless population passed out in the driver's seat with his head against the steering wheel. Luckily, there was nobody in the driver's seat. I pushed on the steering wheel; nothing, started it up; nothing, so I just quickly opened the hood, found the fusebox, and pulled the horn fuse. Obviously that stopped it, but reading the above, I'm a little concerned now for my other components, considering there was a little heat coming from under the hood when I opened it. It's been drizzling outside for the past 6 hours, and the old girl has sat in her parking spot for the past two weeks. I think I'm going to go back out and disconnect the battery just to be safe. I'll go out in the daylight tomorrow morning and give it a once over, and report back.

Just confirmed that my HVAC/Thermometer still work before disconnecting the battery, so there's something.

I plugged the fuse back in yesterday and all seemed alright until I woke up to it going off again this morning. I pulled the fuse again but other than that I don't know what to do. Its been a little damp inside over the winter - Should I disconnect the battery and leave the windows cracked all day? I know next to nothing about electrical systems - Could it be as simple as needing a new fuse? I was planning on making a 20-ish mile round-trip in the vehicle today but I'm a little worried now...

I'd get it out and drive it 100 miles get everything dried out.
