Cant find any at dealer or online.
Anyone know where I might order one?
Thx.

Part# PT928-60080 does seems to be unavailable on the three sites i just checked

That is the LC part # and description matches, but I bet if you try to order they will cancel it after they realize they can't fulfill since it's NLA as Travis just mentioned. Can give it a try though... I imagine while NLA there are a few sitting on shelves in a warehouse.

Sweet nice tip going thru Lexus parts. I ordered one and it didn't stop me to say out of stock so fingers crossed.
Thanks!!

I called my local dealer in Utah and they told me which dealers in the US had them in stock. I ordered one directly from a dealer in Washington and received it a couple days later.

I use to put those on all my pickups and SUVs 20-30 years ago.
I did take notice that with just about all of them the bug shield did more harm then good to the trucks.
In terms of rubbing through the paint and things like that.
Now days I have gone to using the clear bra approach where they put a clear film over the front of the hood and any other area prone to chips and scratches.
I am curious how these would actually fit a 200, since there is rubber gasket sealing the hood and the bumper/headlights.

Denied! Lexus parts emailed back and said order voided none available. Tried the Amazon it said 1 to 3 months. 😁. Thx again.
I tried that with my dealer they couldnt find any. I have always liked the looks of them and have them on my Taco and my 100. and they save a few rock dings on the front end. Front of 200 pretty plain looking... oh well. Thx for checking guys.

I can take pictures and show you guys how it attaches if you want. It's strange that it went NLA so quickly...

Yea 20-30 years ago they were basically just flat plastic fins. And yea, the mounting brackets back then could do more harm than good.

Today bug shields vary in shape, mounting method, and quality. Clear bras do offer better protection and they don't alter the appearance of the car. But they too vary in quality. I've heard stories about poor quality ones turning yellow or hazy. I've also heard about them being hard to remove, and some peeling paint/clear coat off plastic bumpers while trying to be removed. Now they have ceramic paint coatings which claim to offer protection too.

Both have their pros and cons IMO.

Toyota discontinued the bug shields which is a bummer - some of us really liked them.

For education sake - The OEM ones were shaped specifically for the model and mounted using plastic plugs that fit into existing holes under the hood. Metal brackets curled around the lip of the hood and then bolted to the deflector. They use mylar strips to protect where the brackets touch paint. Also, where the brackets mount, they are in front of the latch and in front of the rubber hood gasket - so they don't interfere with it. Actually, the brackets are thin enough they don't touch anything else when the hood is closed either.

When I did mine I went a little extra and wrapped the brackets in tesa tape to offer extra protection and padding against the paint.

Btw this stuff is great and has a vast number of uses - Amazon.com: 5 Rolls Tesa's Most Advanced High Heat Harness Tape 51036 Mercedes, BMW, Audi, VW: Office Products

The tab on the driver side broke and the bug shield started flapping. Anyway to fix it? Mine came with the bug shield since prior owner installed it. I had to go back to Toyota dealer after an oil change recently since I noticed oil all over the skid plate and wanted to make sure the oil pan plug was not stripped or the filter was loose. They ran the cruiser through the car wash as a friendly gesture. I figure the car wash snapped the tab on the bug shield since it wasn't flapping when I drove it to the dealership yesterday morning but it was on the drive home.

On mine Most of the screws, brackets to bug deflector, have wiggled free and fallen out. I replaced those with small blck zip ties and keep extras in my center console. Something to remeber

Funny you mention that about a car wash damaging one. I can think of 2 different occasions many years ago when going through an automated car washes and seeing my bug shields get ripped off the trucks.
One was launched out the front of the car wash, I figured I was lucky it didn't bash it into the hood or windshield.
Both times I was lucky and they were thrown forward of the trucks.

True I was using those flat ones with metal brackets back in the 80s, by the 90s I was using the more modern body contoured type. They still had to wrap around the edge of the hoods where they would eventually rub the paint off. I agree not all clear bra material is alike, I had some of that crap that turns yellow before. however I have not had any permanent paint issues from the clear bras, I could see how it would be possible. I have never used it on a painted rubber bumper. I have only used it on the steel hoods and fender and door edges all painted metal surfaces.

You can get replacement "screw plugs" a.k.a nylon nuts here-
Also any other plastic nut or fastener for Toyota...

The metal bracket would be harder to replace.

If it broke the tab/mount on the reflector itself - then I'd remove it and try gluing it.
But if it's completely gone that's harder as there isn't anything to mount to.

As for loose screws- a dab of loctite helps.

Just to echo others about car washes - ever since installing mine I only do touchless car washes.
I don't suspect those shields are that strong and it wouldn't take much to rip them off.

Here is the broken tab. I was thinking about using a washer but I think the tab is going to break. There is a lot of stress on it to conform to the shape of the hood. You have to twist the bug shield to line it up with the screw. Hopefully the protective clear tape comes off easy since I will probably just remove the whole thing.

On a related note, what do you guys do about 'love bugs'? I do not know how far north they get, but anyone in the SE USA will know what they are and how bad they can be for the paint.

Mine's been on for about 6 1/2 years with no problems:

Of course, I only use touchless car washes.

I like the idea of epoxying a washer to the broken tab to reinforce it.

When I installed mine, there was no tension when fastening it down - the shield matched the contour of the hood perfectly. You might want to try loosening all the fasteners then re-tighten them starting in the center and working outwards to the left and right one fastener at a time. That should, at least, equalize any tension.
