I know a few of you guys have tried my homebrews, last night I got home and found this giant box on my doorstep. I can now officially say my homebrew isn't crap or at least not my barleywine.

Nice. Have always wanted to try homebrewing, but never got around to it. Any secret advice so we dont end up making something that tastes like PBR?

Dave

Bottled my first home brew about a week and a half ago. Should be popping the tops by the end of the month. A couple of my buddies had already made one batch. Extremely good, tasted like something or other 420...had a little more sediment in the bottom than I wanted so went out and bought some more screens and filters and a bag of mix for a chocolate beer. Already a little junk on the bottom, but it doesn't surprise me with how much stuff was in the mush bag we cooked it with.

2nd place? Wonder if you've got a shot at them brewing it?

You cant make anything that tastes like PBR its a lager and you need a cold place to ferment it you'll be making an ale. Best tip I know of is to keep everything clean thats super important.

I'll save you a bottle ghen, are you still around clemson or back around clemson? I think I'll be back around graduation for a couple days maybe.

Very cool Richard. I've never entered anything into a contest before. You'll need to build a trophy case now!

i'll be coming through end of april-early May. Dates aren't set yet, but I need to be in Charleston for a wedding May 2. I'll let you know.

Dude, that's cool Richard, was this the contest that SA had the commercials for? Did you ship it to them or was it like a tasting there in Va? Congrats man!

It wasnt the Sam Adams Sponsored contest my beer actually is to high ABV for the official contest limit is 7% or something lame like that this is 10% ABV. It was a local radio station and a fairly large local brew club. JP did have a 6er of these who knows if he ever drank them if he didn't go crack a couple and wrench on something or just stand in his garage away from your wives.
