no winch, it was the superintendent's truck. I get tempted with winches but keep putting it off, how often am I going to use it compared to how much it costs. My bushblock is plenty muddy and hilly, I have always got out with momentum, little bit exciting every time. Only once I lost total grip with trailer and harrow in tow in 1st, just rolled back down the hill, unhitched harrow and I got out in second.
My old bj40 had a pto winch, loved that as it was factory. Heavy bugger tho, steel cable and big hd cogs. Some folks even attached slashers to the pto and rolled down the grassy hills whilst slashing.
I even towed my mate's little 2tonne truck with the troopy out of the muddy hill. Landcruisers are ace.
So much stuff to buy and I wonder how often it gets used. Like those shiny plastic fluoro mud/sand grabbers on lots of shiny 4wd's roof racks. Could just cut up some plastic milk crates and zip lock them together for a lot cheaper. I hate roof racks, they encourage rust, I only put them on when I really need them like to carry long roof iron.
The vht flameproof stuff is meant to be good for piston heads too..which is quite a claim.
I love these guys oven!
I build kilns , so reckon it is quite achievable, got all sorts of pyrometers and stuff, carbon starts to burn at cherry red colour, around 630c.
