Hows the 4 speed conversion going mate.

4 speed is for the brown HJ75 not the white HZJ75. progress is a bit slow as usual. waiting on tailshaft $$ basically. HZJ is going mighty fine though and getting a little love here and there.

Can't keep a Cruiser down. :)

If you are ever chasing parts let me know. I live in Geraldton and have 5x HJ75's I am dismantling to sell parts at the moment. Got a mate who works at Wiluna on a 3 on 1 off roster and could always take some parts out your way.

Great photo's. I dont get out that way often enough.

cheers for that 86FJ75. sent you a pm with my contact details.

Wow love the stone water tank does the windmill pick up underground bore water. The 75 looks like the oxy cutting rig with the sunken gas bottles also old mate looks chuffed with his new rad support.
Great pics West and when is the great east run happening as I went to show you the 63. :)

Loving the pics of land cruisers being used as work horses! The torch, beer, beard, boots with shorts pic is how I always pictured everyone in Australia looking... awesome :)

haha. they get plenty of work in my parts. the beard and shorts vary a bit but the beer and boots are pretty standard!

yea that's it; windmill pumps water from underground (either a well or bore; this ones a well) into the tank. no permanent surface water in my parts but we run about 70 of these. so we spend a bit of time working on windmills. fantastic machines they are when set up properly. basically the technology hasent changed since 1915 when the windmill as we know it (ie gears running in a sump of oil) was invented. prior to that however there were all sorts of weird contraptions. I collect these old obsolete relics; that is a whole other hobby of mine.

'old yellow' is work ute number one! oxy, welder/genset under that black tub, vice, and pretty much any tool you might need. liner 2H and a 4 speed. sees a lot of rough roads and long days.

aiming for march to head east. few stars have to still align but reckon I gonna make it happen. inspecting a 63 would be perfect; the old girls are special to me. and 'old mate' is west himself :-)

It you ever get a chance would love to see some pics off your other hobby. Old yellow looks in great nic bet she's been around the station a few times mate.
I'm looking forward to sinking a few beers when you get over this side of the country but they don't sell swan lager in my neck off the woods so hopefully find something similar.
:)

g'day all. this old ute going great. put over 30,000km on her now. rebuilt rear axle, new windscreen, rear uni's, just a bit of love. still needs work but slowly getting there. stars didnt align so never made it east. went up the east pilbara for 4 months instead chasing a few cows. had a lot of fun and a good look around; thought i may as well share a few pics.
