Howdy, long time forum lurker, first time poster.

I currently have a 2H with aftermarket turbo, in great condition. The wastegate return is currently plumbed into the crossover pipe and i was wondering if it is beneficial to plumb it into the airbox or snorkel to give it more opportunity to drop in temp OR plumb it into the dump pipe or manifold.

Great forum you have here lads, apologies for the poorly formatted post - im on my phone at work on smoko.

Cheers,
Jake

Thanks for your replies lads, it definitely goes from the internal wastegate to the crossover pipe though, ill try snap a pic of it today for you!

Oh, that is the pressure line that provides the pressurized air to operate the waste gate actuator. It has to go on the pressurized side of the intake, otherwise the waste gate won't do a thing.

Oh crap. Goes to show how extensive my knowledge is on turbos.

So does that mean the pressure released by the wastegate is integrated within the turbo itself?

The waste gate does not release air pressurized by the turbo, it is a valve that reroutes the exhaust past the hot side of the turbo, limiting the amount of pressure the turbo can build. It is controlled by the waste gate actuator, which is basically an air operated solenoid powered by the compressed intake air. That is what the blue hose is for.

That's a Denco kit .. ? caught my eye that wasn't take ( pressure ) from the compressor housing as usually is for wastegates .. the advantage it's clearly it's way more easy to adjust ( wastegate )

Thanks lads, makes sense. I wont go rerouting it now. The pressure release for the wastegate must exit into the dump pipe im assuming? Sorry if its hard to understand what my thought procrss is here
