Hi all, first post. I wasnt sure exactly what to search for so im posting here

When I got my 88 HJ61 all power windows except the passenger window worked fine. seller claimed it worked when he took the 'glamor shots' (same with the sunroof but thats probably another story)
He claimed the master set of window switches tend to corrode causing none of the door switches to work as well, so I took my door panel off and checked. Everything looked fine but I cleaned all the contacts anyways. also tested continuity of all switches. I did notice however the rear windows rolled up slowly halfway, then rolled up as normal, which I thought was odd but since im not familiar with the vehicle didnt consider it.
I noticed once, in cold snowy weather the passenger window worked again miraculously, albeit slowly. then never again.

Nowadays after driving for a bit my rear passenger window no longer works as well, and my driver side rear worked the same slow/fast it did before.
driver window auto and non auto works as to be expected.

Took the door panel off and found the front passenger plastic surround melted... thought it was a short, re seated everything, tested continuity out and tried again but this time watched the circuit board. same passenger windows didnt work at all and i noticed sparking coming from the driver rear switch as I rolled it up.

Any ideas what could be causing this? I thought the switches were the main cause of power window issues in these.

Thanks for the help and Im sorry if there is already a thread regarding this or a similar issue

bummer i cant edit my post.

after cleaning everything up, removing all corrosion i managed to get the rear passenger window to roll down, but not back up.

guess im testing voltage on all regulators in the morning.

New window runs will help a ton with the slow moving issue and will take quite a bit of strain off the old motors and mechanisms if you’re still running the originals. They swell and can’t be cleaned/lubed with any effectiveness

i did notice them bunching up as I was paying closer attention from the outside of the vehicle. they will for sure need to be replaced.

ive cleaned up the window contacts on the master board, but passenger side still doesnt work and passenger rear is hit or miss. I read on facebook it could be due to pitting on the contacts on the board.
Has anyone either made replacement boards for rhd vehicles? or would maybe even a dab of solder to fill in any pitting help at all?

The pinning on the US LHD model matches up with the rhd model, just without the auto window up feature/wiring. I figured it would be plug and play (just kinda backwards) but it didnt seem to work at all. Gonna do some more testing on this one.

Any idea why the US model version wouldnt work esp when the pinning is the same? maybe theres a wiring gauge difference? they seem the same though.

Megazip shows the same part going in the HJ and the FJ.

I bought one from PartsRoute (also cross listing 12v and 24v systems): Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 HJ60 HJ61 Genuine Power Window Master Switch Regulator | eBay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/115534715376

I am probably a year into its use and no problems at the moment.

yeah its backwards but i found a good board in the parts bin for an LHD that works just fine. doesnt fit the door card well but what can you do
