This is my hj47 in her hay day.
Kids loved it wife loved it but the rust was slowly killing her. So the plan was after our last trip to fraser island I would strip the troopy down and finally spend some money and clean her up

So a few years ago I striped her down and the body was crap and I found this one are the wrecker at the time it was brilliant but she sat under a tree for 4 years so its going to need some attention

Got stuck into the frame first she was pretty bad but the steel is sooooo thick I don’t think the rust has done anything but make it a little lighter hehehehe

I was quoted $1000 to sandblast the frame and paint black now I know they would have done a good job but 1 grand is just crazy a few hours 2 grinders and 3 wire brushes later.

its hard to see in this pic but the body has seen better days befor it sat under a tree for 3 years it was rust free i have to say im a little disappointed i didn't get to it before this

after a few days with the wire brush on the grinder again shes looking better and about to sit on the frame
i should have cut the rust our befor i put her back on the frame but its to hard to move around like it is so i will have to do the best i can
