Hey everyone, I went wheeling last night in some BLM land near my house. Of course, 20 feet before the gate, I hit something very, very hard. It had to be a rock, but I looked and could not find it. It was at night, and I could not find any damage marks on the truck. The power steering is gone, and fluid is leaking through the passenger side boot. The wheels are also way out of alignment, especially when viewed from a centered steering wheel, both aim at the passenger side. I'm at a loss for where to start. I am mechanical and I do have techstream, but unfamiliar with steering systems. What would you do first?

With symptoms like that, there will be visible damage. First thing is to get under the front end with a good light and see what’s hurt. Then go from there.

I hear ya, and I have. I mean, there is some rash on the wheel, but I am not sure it is from that. I have gone over it for like an hour. I was thinking I would at least take the boot off and dig in. I need it to drive as it is daily until I can swap the rack, which I am sure it will need, but you never know if there is something easy to start with. I was going to home align it just to drive but I want to start with the rack boot first.
