I think the weight of the Hino 6 cylinder engines is quite prohibitive to a swap. I think the WO6 is around 1300lb dry if memory serves correct? Maybe look at the 4 cylinder versions.

Thought they may have been comparable in weight and size to a cummins 5.9/6.7 can't find much info online, want to fit a large capacity I6 might just go down the 5.9 route

The Cummins is around 1150 pounds

I think the biggest Hino engine you could use with ease would be the 4cyl from a Coaster, Dyna or Hino Dutro. I imagine you could decent power out of this with work. Hino N04C-TF

The W04 and W06 are Toyota's version of the 4BT and 6BT. They may even predate the Cummins. The W04 is pretty much 2/3rds of a W06, they share many parts. The N04 is a modernized version of the W04.

If the 6BT fits in an 80 Series, then the W06 should, too. Same size and 1000lb +.

Would the hino W06 be a better fit in a 70 series? Picked up a hj75 last weekend but needs a new engine

You made me go look and wiki says the Cummins is about 4 years older than the W06.
