Harry,

It is time you actually drove something on a run again. If both your rigs are unavailable you can borrow my Suburban if you don't mind the housewife look. That way you can haul my extra gear so my 4runner is not so overloaded. :D

Wow, this could be a big gathering, too cool.

If anyone else wants to go, you are more than welcome.

Thanks, I think that I have got it covered. :flipoff2:

If the 80 is back from Hawaii by next month then we will probably take it up there, I have wanted to go further into High Rock Canyon for a long time.

I knew a little teasing would help :bounce:

We are still over a month away and I can't stand it. Good to see everyone making the attempt. Counting down.

Getting closer. Already getting the camp gear out and ready.

I'm new to the board and new to my 100.

How would a stock 100 do on this run?

Or would it do anything? ;)

2000 100 with no running boards and so-so tires. :)

Welcome!
As long as you don't mind a little Nevada pinstripping and get decent tires you'll be okay. That part of the state is hell on tires.

I've got my share of sagebrush pinstriping already. ;)

My tires have good tread but they aren't AT's. I'm working on that though but not sure I'll have some by the time of this trip.

I've seen a little bit of everything up there (vehicle wise) so I would say bring some tire plugs and some type of air source and come on up. I always carry those things and, knock on wood, I've never had a problem. Nor has anyone that I have gone up there with. Not saying you won't, but I wouldn't let that stop you. There will be enough of us to get you out. In fact that may be the way to do it, a somewhat large group, safety in numbers kind of thing.

Hope to see you there.

Jack

I did a search for Gerlach on my Maquest, and it's far North of Smoke Creek, (which shoes up by Pyramid Lake). Is that where the trail is by? I'm asking because I think I want to go, but I'm off of 50 in El Dorado Hills, and If I wanted to meet up with you I probably wouldn't wan't to drive up to Gerlach to meet up with you? Or, if the Wife doesn't want to go, I could pick up my Dad in Genoa, (over by Carson City) and meet up with you somewhere. Please let me know!!

Actually High Rock Canyon is farther north. The best thing, unless you wanted to get up at like 2:00 in the morning, would be to stay in Reno Friday night. It will be an all day drive to get up there. You are looking at 150+ miles from Reno and most of it will be on dirt roads. I'm not sure if you are looking at doing the Saturday-Sunday Run with Battle Born Cruisers or if you wanted to tag along with my little group, which won't be back to Reno until Monday. Both groups are leaving on Saturday morning. My beds are taken, but you are welcome to throw a sleeping bag down on the floor of the office or living room. I have plenty of parking so if that sounds like a plan let me know.

Well, less than a day to go. I've got the LX loaded to the gills. See everyone up there. Be safe.

Jack

I think we saw you guys, but we wanted to keep up with the group so we didn't stop to chat. I'd like to hear about your trip. I wrote a brief summary of ours here.
