High Idle troubleshoot--with video!! (1 Viewer)

Restricting air intake with hand & idle increases = mixture is very lean.
Look for restricted passage in carb, bad ICS, vacuum leak(s)...

The ics had a weak ground from its original connection.
I ran a crude splice in just to see if I could get a decent tune on it.
Truck will now idle pretty well, though not ideal at around 7-7500. There is a slight lope to it down there. But it is much better.
There is also much better suction with the hand test.
I'm sure there's some smaller leaks slipping by as well as some junked up jets causing the lope.
But barring a rebuild I feel ok about where it sits now.

Just in that 1 picture there are many vac hoses routed incorrectly.
Download the emissions FSM and put each hose to its' correct fittings.
