I get, what's to me at least, high idle rpms at a cold start - first thing in the morning, after work. 1600 - 1800 rpm, dropping to ~1000 rpm when gear selected. This high run condition continues for a short while, then drops to a more "normal" 700 - 800 rpm idle - doesn't reappear after the truck is warmed up, shutdown and restarted. This seems like the worst possible thing from an engine lub perspective. I can understand a warm-up cycle, but is this out of the ordinary - and what's a possible driver for it? yes, this is new aquisition and our first Cruiser, so no good reference on the issue here.
