Does anyone see any potential problems with sticking a hi-lift on the stock fron bumper of a 97 cruiser using the 4xmounts.

I do. I think it will bend the bumper.

I wouldn't do it. That bumper and its mounting brackets are not very tough.

I knew i should not have asked...lol.....those arent the answers i want to hear....i guess ill have to hold out for an ARB or give it a shot on the stock one and see if it bends so that I have to get an ARB...i did not know that bumper was that week....cant even support 40lbs...i guess those brush guards that i see so many of that bolt to the front bumper must not be very strong either

You are correct. They are essentially a decoration that is, in fact, a damage multiplier in almost all but the slightest taps.

I looked at those brush gaurds and it seems you would have to hit right in the middle to not damage the rig. The ARB or Slee are armoured the entire Bumper width, just seemed like a lot more protection, thats why I am holding out.

From my experiences with my stock trimmed bumper, if you take the vents out, this will provide a lift point that is in direct line with the frame rails. As stated in other posts the brackets and bolts are the weak link. However when I busted my drag link, this was the only lift point I had to work with on the trail. I was pleasantly surprised that I lifted the front end, BOTH tires off the ground off this point on the bumper, so that I could straighten the wheels to get off the rocks. Now a word of (CAUTION) I wouldn't TRUST this on a day to day "hey let's rotate my tires kinda lift point" But in the feild... it can be done to get you out...

My 2 cents ARB's are not "ALL THAT" again you’re depending on shear strength of the hdw, no matter how nice the bumper is made....
