How are the Dakar lift kits from OME. I like the prices better but how do they work. I want to set up an expedition rig.

Dakar is all that OME offers now. That's what has been discussed in this thread, you can search for other threads as well.
I would have to agree that the HFS springs are too soft. I got them when I first bought my cruiser. I didn't know crap about cruisers and did not even know that OME existed. The front springs have been fine, haven't lost any lift, and they flex alright. The rear however are not designed to hold any extra weight. My first camping trip out with them and I thought I was going to bottom out, seriously. I was not even loaded down that much. Just a three day camping trip with what I could fit in the cargo area. Any way when I got home i added the add-a-leaf out of the old spring packs. Now they hold the weight like I think they should, but they are a little stiff otherwise.

I have had the 2.5" HFS lift kit with greaseable shackles since '05 and have never been completely satisfied with it. It is to stiff in my opinion. I ordered the complete kit including shocks and steering damper, the only things I did not replace were the spring pins. The "H" style shackles are extremely stout though.
I just got my ome medium duty kit today. I can't wait to put it on.
