Was having a conversation with another member when he mentioned HF has a new 18,000 lb Badland Winch out. $699.

Before you buy one, check your fit. Doesn't look like it will fit the ARB on our 80. It's 27" wide, about 6" wider than the 12k Smittybilt in there now, which was shoehorned in. The gussets at the top of the winch space would interfere even if it does somehow fit square and centered in the 30" of space between the vertical frame bars.

It's a big'un.

I'd be curious to see the measured specs if somebody ever tests it seriously. I suspect some folks out there may be playing fast and loose with ratings. Not HF of course...

HF offered me one about a year back, but I had nothing to put it in...knowing their testing facility director, I suspect it's slow, but effective. Gearing does wonders - I've got a 15k MileMarker on my Ram that is effective, just don't be in a hurry :)

Gota be a 1/2" line tho... H E A V Y

The Badland 12k seems to have satisfied a lot of folks. Assuming the same effort went into the 18k, I doubt there will be too many disappointments.

More from the info in the flyer:
75' of 1/2" cable on a 4" x 10" drum
7.5 hp series wound motor
Three-stage planetary gear drive
Cable tensioner
30' cord length remote control

A little more info from the flyer this month image.webp
