Howdy all. Do any of you guys have a spare distributor that you KNOW works (and will work in a '75 2F) that you'd be willing to loan me to eliminate some questions in my engine? I'll happily return it with a Starbucks card or something:) And if you wanted to part with it permanently, and it is the solution to my issue(s), I'll be happy to work out a deal with you on that end once I know if that's the issue.

Thanks all!

Without listing your location we have no idea where you are. You may get lucky and have someone nearby. Also post up in the Clubhouse section if there is one near you.

HA!!! That's funny. I thought I had it in my profile. My bad:)

Located just south of Portland, OR. Thanks John:)

jdog, I'm sure you've been very busy with your new addition to your family, But if you get a chance, get that dizzy tested.

I've been trying to find a place to do just that. Neither Baxter's, Car Quest, or NAPA around here can do it:/ It's been VERY frustrating to say the least. I'm almost ready to drive an hour out of town just to get the stupid thing checked:/

PM me your address. I'll see if I have time to make the drive down there on Saturday. Are you off work that day? If I can make it, I'll pull my dizzy and coil and we'll see what we can figure out. I make no promises. Road conditions in the pass will play a factor. And my dog Pe'a will be riding shotgun...cool?

That sounds great dog. I had rbc offer the same thing, and he's a little closer. I feel bad having you guys have to pull your gear apart though:( Then re-install and re-time, etc., etc. However...if you were still interested in possibly painting my rig, that might kill two birds with one stone too....hmmmmmmm.....

Let's get the thing running/driving first. Your paint scheme will have to be done in stages.

How far is downtown Portland from you? Call Landcruisers Northwest, they will be able to test it for you.

I'm such a moron dog. I totally spaced they could do it. They are only 15 minutes or so away too. I'll call them this morning. Thanks for getting my brain into gear on that one. I swear this baby stuff is turning my gray matter into mush.

78 distributor.

Hey,
I have a good working distributor out of my 78 Cruiser that I converted to diesel. There is two different styles of hold down clamps thought. Maybe one of the guru types out there can let you know if it will fit your block. It has the electronic conversion in it as well as a jacobs spark enhancer box. Let me know if your interested.

Thanks hell. I am interested. Whereabouts are you located? And can I try it before I buy it? :)

If it will fit your block your more then welcome to it. It's just going to sit around collecting dust now that I have developed a serious diesel fetish. :) I am located in Northern British Columbia so I could throw it in priority post. Do a bit of homework on it though. There was a change in clamp style at some point in the late 60's early 70's. Would suck to be waiting for a distributor you can't use.

Thanks hellfire. I'll do a little digging and see if it's compatible.

On a separate front...where'd you get your diesel? I'm beyond jealous!

Hey jdog,
I'm afraid I had to cheat and use a 6.5 chev turbo diesel. I would have loved to go with a Toyota diesel but they are so hard to come by. The 6.5 shares the same bell housing pattern and motor mount configuration as the small block chevy so it was actually a pretty easy swap after a trip through the advanced adapters catalog. Have yet to drive it as I am doing some majors on the suspension but have high hopes for decent power and mileage. If I could just quit this damn work thing my project FJ would progress much faster. :)
