well, some in here would adamantly tell you to swap back to a stock 'yota carb :hillbilly: i've got buddies who run webers n are happy with them, mind you, not on tractor motors
I did anticipate the “go back to the stock carb” comment! I’d like to drive what I got and get this Weber going. Wonder if I need to get a pressure regulator to reduce the incoming stock fuel pump PSI. Could that incoming pressure be too much and giving it too much fuel

too much fuel to cause the lurching in my way of thinking would be emulating a diesel rollin' coal. akin to the choke on. i forget who it is in here that's running a weber n has it workin properly. may be root around a bit

Definitely run a regulator with the Weber. That’s what I did in the past. 3PSI MAX if memory serves correctly. It served me well until I went back to stock (for A/C purposes) and now I have fuel injection via Holley Sniper. Because reasons.

thanks! So I would run a regulator AFTER the pump, on the way to the Weber, right? I did that mod on my 40 when it wouldn't run right and it worked well. I bought this truck with the Weber, headers, desmog, and assumed that the PO had set it up fine as it is. It runs pretty good on the road, but lurching off road shows that consistent and correct fuel pressure needs to happen before I dive down the rabbit hole.

That is correct. Fuel pump then regulator then Weber. Follow the Weber tuning instructions and it will work well.

So I got an inline 3 PSI HEEP filter installed. Truck needed some carb adjustment, but runs about the same overall. I need to get it in a trail to really see the difference in the fuel delivery.
