The windshield broke on my 2007 LX470 with NightView. Luckily I had a $0 deductible on glass!

The aftermarket windshield came in with no provision for the NightView HUD, so they had to buy the windshield direct from Toyota. It had been replaced in the past, and rather than rivet the moldings the old shop caulked them in, so Safelite had to get new moldings as well. My insurance company is also going to pay for realignment of the night view camera.

Total Cost: $2005.07

Invoice attached.

The moral to this story, get the $0 glass coverage on nightview windshields.

That's crazy, i paid 250 for mine when it broke, now i have rust on the roof of my LC lol. hack job

You are most likely getting the last of the available Toyota windows!

Ha ha aren't all of the standard windows long gone even at dealers? They just use PGW or another supplier.

AGC 'Factory' glass now made in Indonesia not Japan. Any better or worse? Not sure, but run the DOT here www.carwindshields.info/dot_db
I can attest that aftermarket glass is the dogs breakfast, especially DOT563, which is now 98% of 100 series glass from China. I don't care what the Bug Stamp says for brand name, run the DOT#, PPG, Pilkington, LamiSafe, blah blah blah, tried them all, Insurance told me that's all that's available so it's acceptable to insurance. Even had supervisor sit in vehicle and move his head back and forth and see the world changing in front of his eyes, that was after the 3'rd windshield install, I got tired of them cutting out and replacing. Shop was frustrated too, only do what they are told.- Distortion, lack of tint, wavy on angles, light refraction, thickness, couldn't drive at night, oncoming headlights would run you off the road, you name it I've been through it. They all now buy from DOT563 SHENZHEN AUTOMOTIVE GLASS MANUFACTURING P.R.O.C., CHINA

Roll the dice boys, or support the OEM before they're obsolete and only option is the garbage coming out of China!

Good to know, thanks! I've got two separate chips in mine, both repaired. Holding tight for now...

Had mine replaced about two months ago, OEM Toyota parts, glass, side moldings, top molding.
$1,250 in parts
$350 labor

Out the door cost $0 I have no deductible. Great deal.

That titanium ceramic patch isn’t cheap. When I had my night view windshield replaced probably 8 or 9 years ago I think the insurance guy said the glass was around $1700 - and OE Lexus stamped glass is the only option for us.

Yep, titanium ceramic oxide, apparently. From a Lexus slide deck
