Does anybody have their floorboard or cargo area of their 80 coated in bed liner (Rhino Lining, Line-X, Herculiner, etc.)? My carpet is getting quite grungy and I haven't exactly found a cheap replacement so I thought I might spring for this. Anybody tried it or something similar? Photos?
I've seen the interior of a 100 stripped clean, and it was not a good surface for herculiner or similar. Lots of cavities, seams, and ridges that do not lend themselves to a bedlined interior. I imagine the 80 is similar. When I strip my interior, I will likely build a floor and sides out of marine grade plywood, and coat that in a bedliner type rough coating. That will protect whatever is currently under the carpet, make insulation easy, and give a smooth flat surface for the coating.
My $.02. I'm sure others have a differing opinion.
I've seen photos in here somewhere of an 80 stripped out inside for the purpose of installing a noise reducing application. I just tried to search for it but the system's down.
EDIT- search for "dynamat" and look at the thread by Semlin. He emptied out the back of his 80 for cleaning and took good photos.
I've got my interior linex'd, not exactly a cheep mod... For reference here in Sol Cal a truck bed goes around 600 and up. An 80 has at least that much area inside. Vans are going around 800 bucks the last time I checked. But I love it, I’ve got about 3/8 on the floor, just as quite as carpet, super easy to clean out.
Sorry I’m on the road no pic's, PM me and I send ya some when I get back in town later this week.
