Hi guys and girls,
Sethzilla here, I'm trying to organize a cleanup/reopening of the Big Falls trail down here in central california. Most of you guys were able to play around on this trail at previous years Surf N Turf's put on by PismoJim from Realcruiser.com. I have some friends who own 140 acres along the trail out there, and could use some help clearing debris and rock from the creek and trail. The recent rainstorms have hit us pretty hard and done a number on the trail! Completly washing away one section of road and leaving a 30" drop off into the creek(now river)!
The county has come in and graded up to the last house on the road, which is just before the dropoff.
My friends property starts about 9/10ths of a mile past the dropoff and is where the trail get's into really fun wheeling. Helping them reopen the road back to thier campsite is beneficial to all of us in a couple of ways. 1, gives us all access to a fun local 4x4 and camping spot. 2, shows the property owners that not ALL offroaders are disrespectful to the enviroment. 3, allowing us to return out there for this years Surf N Turf 05!
My plan of attack was this;
Meet up at JJ's Market in Arroyo Grande at 9 am saturday Feb. 5th. Leave no later than 9:30 for the trail head. Bring shovels, pickaxes, breaker bars, chainsaws, lopping shears, pruning shears, chain and straps for big rocks. Something to eat, drink and inclement clothing. If your rig has a winch, we'd love to have you along! Even if it does'nt we could use the extra manpower to help clear the trail.
If you're willing to put in the effort and help out please reply, Thanks for taking the time to read my long post!
