I can't decide which tires to put on my 2000 Cruiser???

Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO with UNI-T AQ II

OR

Bridgestone Blizzak DM-Z3 with UNI-T

Both offered in 275/70/16

I have a cabin in Tahoe, so I will be doin more snow drivin than off-roadin.

well, good luck, but let's save the "emergency" thread titles for real emergencies, please...

Just drove into work this morning with some fresh powder shots over the truck. I've got bfg AT's (285's) they work great for me and I have'nt had any problems in the snow in the last 3 years.

I've put the REVO's in alot of snow too without issues too, 285/75R16 revos all over New England/Vermont snows. Plus it's a better tire come spring, summer and fall.

Revos in 285 are wonderful.

Here is the problem as I see it. The tire you are looking at is in the 275/70/16 size, which is also a "P" (passenger) rated tire. A "P" rated tire is questionable for being equipped on a heavy SUV. Trucks and SUV's should have LT (light truck) tires, not P tires. That's my .02 for whatever it's worth.

The "P" tires will also have less tread depth. Usually 13/32 vs. 16/32.

A typical "P" 265/75/16 tire may weigh 45lbs. whereas the "LT" 265/75/16 tire weighs 54-55lbs. It's built on a heavier carcass and typically is constructed with more plys, etc.

If you are looking for a good all around tire for some snow and light off roading then I would consider those REVO's in "LT" form. If you don't really want a taller tire you can go with the 265/75/16 size instead of the 285/75/16 size.

If you do a good deal of winter driving, then perhaps you want a second set of rims and some snow tires like those Blizzaks.

Good luck.
