I had my 2013 parked for a month without starting it. Battery disconnected most of it.

I went to start it and it won’t crank at all. It says “check VGRS system”. ????
The AC blower blows fine and the rest of the vehicle seems to have power.

I tried jumping it, then charging the battery overnight, then jumping it again no crank even though the voltmeter gauge was showing almost 14v.

How do I reset this and get my 200 out of my garage?

“VGRS” is supposed to be the steering system? Why won’t it let the engine crank. My wheel was barely off center when the battery was disconnected.

Make sure your battery terminals are super tight and try again.

I don't believe the two issues are related. VGRS is known to need to reinitialize after battery disconnect.

So for the starter. Is the battery on your key good? Check the immobilizer light on your vehicle to make sure the key transponder is worker.

That's the easy issue.

It could very well be the starter relay is fubared. It's been known to be an issue. How many miles does your vehicle have? Trying to start many times has show success for some people. There's a hack to tap the starter or jump some contacts on the starter with a wrench.

Other than that, it's likely a tow to the dealership.

Which battery are you trying to jump? Passenger or driver side?

Passenger.

I can’t remember, had the stater been replaced yet?

Regarding key battery - everything thing else (HVAC blower, Navigation, etc) seems to normal. So it really doesn’t seem like it would be key battery. Will double check for immobilizer light.

Starter relay - 130k miles. I have had this problem on my 80s and 100 before, usually there’s some sort of click. In the 200, press button and nothing like that. Everything else comes on as expected.

Okay, I’ll double check battery connections, but it’s likely my starter gave up the ghost at 130k?

Experience on previous models, there was some sort of click usually. This time, no sound at all.

On the 60/62s , there is a resettable starter relay, may have tripped if cable sparked when removing.

Move the shifter over to drive and back, some folks havn trouble with the selector switch...

Coil pack ground wire is also a known ghost.

Solved!

A 10 amp fuse!

The SwitchPro has a fuse tap to the ignition, I rerouted the wire between the fuse box and the SwitchPro and plugged it into the wrong slot. (In my defense I didn’t install the SwitchPro and it was surrounded by 3 blank slots)
