Hello i had a large cooler spi over in the back cargo area; the mat caught alot of the water but a good amount still went into the carpet area. Cleaned it up once we got home with a wet vac but still damp. Very hot here so it shuld dry out; should i been concerned with mold or is that with constant exposure to water? Also is there any way of keeping the back gate open with out getting the battery to drain from the interior lights? would removing the fuse help?

Remove the fuse or bulb will help. You can also find the pin and push it in with something to hold it. You can also pull up the the carpet and run a fan under the area for a few hours to help dry it out.

My interior lights have a door setting. If you switch it off the door setting, the lights should not stay on.

thanks did the switch thing i just thought i still might drain the batt somehow but pulling up the carpet i did not want to do (lazy) thanks

You could drive here (So. Arizona) where it's 100F+ w/ 6% humidity. It would be dry in an an hour or two.

thanks i real hot here to plus humid so thats why i think its taking so long; well i finally broke down and took the seats and carpet out not difficult but its hot here and i am sweatin:crybaby: i am glad i did it because most of the cruves in the floor had water in them the carpet under the back seats is a little damp but that i am not taking out anyway the rear carpet is not getting a suntan so i hoep it dries by tonight. thanks for the help

Just ordered my arb fridge for occasions such as this. The cooler I had in CM leaked all week and worked its way under my weathertech liner. Very stinky by the time I got home.

My experience is in humid conditions carpet has to come up so air can get to the top and bottom. When I worked in portland, carpet had to come out of vehicle or it would never dry.

IIRC, the interior light will go out on it’s own after while. I never worried about leaving the door opened and the light wouldn’t be on anymore. Am I the only one that noticed this?
DMX:confused:

I noticed that too, I leave my doors open frequently and the lights are always off when I return. Even if I leave the map light on.

Correct - the LC/LX has a battery saver feature that turns off the interior lights. Mine seem to go out somewhere around a half hour. All interior lights are affected in the LC/LX. That has been a handy feature, since we have not routinely checked the garage to make sure all car interior lights are off before retiring for the night.

When I got my 04 Sienna it also claimed to have an interior light battery saver feature - but one day a door was left ajar, the lights did not go out , and the battery drained. The dealer clarified that only the front door lights had the feature in the Sienna (I never found that limitation in the manual).

hey thanks a bunch for the info on the lights i will remember that; as for the carpet i did take everything out and so far so good everything is dry.
