Help with vent control pin! (1 Viewer)

Hello! So I broke the “hot cold” temp control slider pin. I have everything apart most. The bottom of the plastic pin sheered off the pivot point.... will the below part replace the whole harness? Toyota parts guy seemed to think I would have replace all the controls and everything if using this part. Any other quick fixes? THANKS!

The bottom tips of this broke off

temporary fix was a washer that fit well.
