Help with parts needed to install 7 pin adapter (1 Viewer)

Hi all, My 2015 LX did not come with a 7 pin adapter installed, but it was pre-wired. I am towing a travel trailer in 2 weeks and just thought to look and make sure everything is ok...of course it is not. I am scrambling to find out what exactly I need and install it before my trip. I done several searches online and see that I can buy the actual OEM adapter for about $56, but I don't know what else I need to attach it to the pre-existing wires and mount it to the vehicle. I prefer something OEM or better. I might end up buying a trailer and using it regularly, so I don't want to do a crappy job. Sorry for the novice questions, but I've never towed anything and not sure exactly what I need. I do realize that the location isn't ideal either. Not sure if I want to tackle that right now though. Here is a picture of my setup. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Here's my 2014. You should have 2 plugs that run the to 7-Pin adapter.

If you’re towing a travel trailer, you’ll also need a brake controller. There are some excellent threads on here about towing and about the controller choice. One of the wires in the 7 pin connector supplies power to the trailer brakes.

Where did you mount your trailer brake controller?

If you tow a braked travel trailer, where did you decide to mount your brake controller? I need to figure this out and I'm looking for advice.

I definitely will look into getting a brake controller in the future, but first I just want to figure out how to get my LX outfitted with the right parts that should have been put on from the factory. Just not sure what parts I need to order. This trip will be very short with a very light trailer, so I'm not concerned about the braking....but in the future if I tow anything heavier I will get the brake controller. I will also read your blog right now. Thanks!

This is the OEM part I bought this summer before towing something cross country. 2008-2019 LAND CRUISER TOW HITCH WIRE HARNESS CONNECTOR PLUG OEM TOYOTA | eBay

I'm not finding it in the current parts catalog anymore but you might wanna try the local Toyota dealer. I talked to my Lexus dealer and they were clueless.

You can get a cheaper harness from e-trailer.com too. I was in a pinch and needed to get one from the dealer.
