Am doing some major maintenance on my truck and need some help/advice.
Is there a better aftermarket radiator or is the stock one more than enough?
also any body know where I can get the fan clutch for my truck? it seems to be the original clutch and I will be doing some off-roading and don't want any issues when am in the middle of nowhere. thank you so much!

Generally speaking if your radiator is in good shape it should be good enough in all situations, except maybe if turbo’d and climbing long hills at hwy speeds.
As to the fan clutch, you should be able to get a new one, might have to do some searching to find a suitable replacement number. Also, you could change out the fan clutch fluid with a thicker fluid. Search for it, lots of write ups on doing that.

You can fit the taller (well, extends further downwards) radiator from later 70 series landcruiser, I've got one (in copper/brass still) in my BJ74. But be aware that you need to consider inlet/outlet positions, I'm running the HZJ/HDJ style, which has the lower hose on the right hand side of the radiator, then running a cross-over pipe (stock BJ74 is both hoses on the left hand side of the vehicle).

If you do this, you will need to have your shroud modified, I just had it done by a local sheetmetal guy and quite frankly he did such a good job you wouldn't know it wasn't factory.

There are other fan hubs in the toyota family which will drive more air, I'm working through grafting the 'blue hub' 1HZ/1HD fan onto my 13B-T, but it's going to require a custom machined adaptor ring where the snout of the water pump fits into the back of the viscous hub. The 'blue hub' fan is adjustable for its cut-in temperature, the other 'done thing' is swapping out the stock silicone fluid for more viscous fluid, to increase drive to the fan.

There are also fans which move more air than the stock fan, but if they're larger diameter, will need extensive fan shroud modifications.

i will be keeping it stock since it has worked well, I ordered a new clutch fan and fan blades, i will also be flushing the radiator.

Direct drive fans were fairly standard on 70-series in the tropics. Probably in the middle east too. They keep it real cool but are not very good in the winter up here in N America, they keep it to cool then.

I have x2 1PZ/1HZ direct drive fans with hubs on the shelf.

Cheers

Where did you get your direct drive fans from? For reference, I have a 93 KZJ78.
