So I recently moved to Raleigh with my 92 FJ80. I have ordered my FSM and the Birfield DVD because I need new front bearings and the birfs are popping when I turn.

Cruiserdan is sending me info on what I will need and I hope to do the work in early February.

If anyone in the Raleigh area has done this and would like some free beer and food, I would love the help.

Hope to get wheelin again soon so I can go out with the group.

Not in Raleigh but am in Fayetenam. Just rebuilt the front of my 45.

Great quotes

You have a great vehicle for your retirement! Nice quotes on your sig line as well.
I might well come down to Fayetnam if you have some time on your hands in the coming weeks. I'll stay in touch as I progress towards money and parts!

Don't forget to duck!

So I think I'll have some money next week to order all my parts. CDan should be able to get me everything. My birfs pop when I turn my wheel 1/2 way, more or less. I can not spend the $$$ on OEM birfs. Do you think I should get the 27 spline chromolys Longfields or wait and see what the birfs look like.
If at all possible, I would come visit you and see if you would like to assist a newbie on his first front axle job. I don't want to impose though, just asking if you really enjoy working on them I guess.
I'd bring whatever tools you suggest.
Let me know, otherwise I'll do it and really put myself on the learning curve.

Thanks for your input and especially for your time overseas.

Ya come on down, just give me a day or 2 warning. I would see what yours look like before i dropped money i did not have. But if you have it go for it, and get some good ones.
