I am preparing for a SAS on my '99 4runner Ltd but want to stick with a Toyota axle. Also I want to keep the OEM rear axle. Is there anything toyota that matches up???

79-85 mini truck front axle should be about the right width, let you keep 6 lug wheels, has disc brakes, etc.

EDIT: My information was not helpful- I completely overlooked the differential being on the wrong side. Sorry.

79-85 mini truck axles have a right side drop. 96 and up use a left side drop so you can't use one without heavy modifications to move the 3rd member to the other side. I've seen it done but its a lot of work. Besides, 79-85 front axles are only 55" wide and the 99 rear is about 61" wide.

Take a look at Diamond Axles. Diamond Axles - Welcome
They make axle housings virtually any way you want. You can use Toyota 3rds and outers or Toyota 3rds and D60 outers or whatever and they'll put the pumpkin on either side and cut it to any width you need.

find a jeep grand wagoneer. they have a D44 up front with a driver drop, 6 lug, the width you need and are fairly cheap. the only way to keep it all toyota is to either switch out the transfer case with an adaptor and use a LC or mini truck front end (lots of work) or have a stock toyota axle built which is stupid since you can build up a D60 for what that would cost.

Can you do a doubler then use a rear t-case with a passenger side diff? Could put a 80 series front axle up front with that set up. Won't an 80 series t-case bolt up? They should be the same transmission in the later model 80 series, but you'd have to use both landcruiser axles.

Sheesh. Sure you can. Just get a T100 xfer case from a 3.4 T100. You'll need the T100 oil pan too to clear the mini truck axle. You'll also need a widening kit. Brakes won't be as good from the toy mini axle though.

Also google 44runner if you want to swap US iron.

An 80 Series transfer case uses offset/offset outputs and I think your fuel tank may be in the way of the driveshaft. You can check out Inchwrom gear. I think they make an adapter to use older right side drop transfer cases on your transmission.

just go with the D44, thats the best option out there and plenty of info on ttora about it.
