Help w/Speedi Sleeve! Poser? JimC?

Guys, HELP!

I checked the Speedi-Sleeve sizing chart. They have a sleeve that will fit a shaft size of 98.37mm to 98.53mm. The next size up is 99.95mm to 100.10.

According to Poser's measurement I need 99.53mm so the first one is too small and the next size up is too big. Any suggestions?

Will the first one expand enough if I heat it to fit? Can I use high strength thread locker to cement the larger one in place so that it will stay correctly?

What shaft requires a Speedi-Sleeve? If you are talking about the rear crankshaft that the oil seal mates to, then the one listed for a '78 FJ40 is CR-99393 that is for shaft sizes 99.95mm to 100.10mm.

That is the same part number I found for that size. Where did you find the info that it says it is actually for a 1978 FJ40? I'll probably go ahead and give it a try.

They used to have a page that let you select your vehicle and it would give you all the products they made. This is the list for a number of years including a '78, but I cannot vouch for their accuracy. I know that when posted all the tabs/spaces will disappear so I apologize for the display you see.

How did it fit?

I ordered the 99393 and when I got it I got all prepared to install it, then decided to heck with it. I got the dremel tool out and buffed and buffed on the scratch until it was smooth to the touch. Called it good and finished putting it together and returned the sleeve.

I hope it doesn't leak but if it does, well, then I guess I'll have to get the sleeve and di it right this time.
