Hi,

I've just replaced the radiator. I didn't install the battery until this morning. Turn the key and she is dead, nothing. The very first thing I did, checked the battery connections and especially the positive side where a few wires connected together. I've found that the green wire which is coming out of a small black plastic box (has two wires, white and green) is broken, probably age and corrosion. I called all AutoParts stores and they don't have it. I can probably solder it, but the wire looks corroded.
I am leaving Thursday on a fishing trip and if order the right one from Dan, it won't be here by Thursday. Any ideas, suggestions would be realy appreciated.

Thanks,
Alex

I cooked the fusible link when the main wiring loom shorted. I replaced with an inline bayonet style fuse (15 amp) I got at Napa for $6, until the right part showed up. The 15 amp did the job for the week, but I carried a couple of spares (1 20 amp) just in case. HTH, Greg.

you wont find it anyplace but at the dealer. But you can get fusible link wire at any parts store, if its like my fj40 link you can take the links apart and replace the wire. I had to make mine for my 82 fj40 as the link can't be gotten even at the dealer.

John,

I was able to find a 14 gauge fusible link wire at O'Reily's AutoParts. Shell I worry about ordering one before my trip, I am leaving on Thursday for a fishing trip, about 3000 miles round trip, or I should order one tomorrow pr just don't worry about after my return??

Thanks,
Alex

if it's for a fishing trip, CDan will do wonders for you, well as long as you promise not to catch anything bigger than a minnow... (vanitas vanitatum etc)

I suggest that when you order you get 2, so as to have spare. Carry the right size tools to be able to replace on trail.
