I have an FJ60 I know this is the fj80 board but I need help fast and you guys had the most people viewing. I have been loosing coolant somewhere and haven't been able to find out where I have a put in an Chevy Vortec engine in my cruiser. I found this today and was curious if it could be the problem. Also my Temp sensor doesn't work. Could this be where it should be. Thanks guys. Merry Christmas

I dont know if this will be any help but have you tried VORTECCRUISERS on yahoo.com.
They used to have a great forum going but it seems to have slowed some. Good Luck

Don't know what that piece is circled, but doubt you're losing coolant there. For one thing if it's as open as it looks then the coolant would shoot out and that whole area would be covered in green (or whatever color your coolant is). Doesn't look messy enough to be that, IMO.

As for the temp gauge not working, most temp gauges are very simple, just a wire connected to a sensor on the engine. That usually is near the front or side of the engine, it usually is not hard at all to find that sensor on just about any engine. That thing you have circled *could* be a broken coolant temp sensor I guess, can't really tell though.
