When i turn on my wind sheild wipers the slip and slide all over the place and mostly dont stay on the windsheil then do not return to the bottom of the glass. they just stop about 4 inches from the bottom.

There is not a lot that can go wrong w/windshield wipers. Sounds like your motor is working, so it must be something in the relay system (not sure if I am using the right name - the system of rods that connect the motor to the wipers.) The wiper relay is easy to remove. Remove the motor, and the wipers. Remove the wiper bases from the top of the hood, and the relay drops down into the back of the hood. You just fish it out. 30 minute job. I bet that inspection will tell you what's the problem.

If it's broken, used ones are usually sold as a set, and I paid $150 for mine. New was $400+.

Sounds like the arm slipped on the splines. Check the nut under the cap at the base of the wiper arm for tightness.

all ready check that and it is fine.

The linkage under the air intake cowl has a couple of bearings in it. The bearings are mounted in plastic clips which crack after 20 years or so. I've managed to replace a them by making some new bearing holders. If you're not up to fabbing you own parts on a lathe, seeking out a used wiper linkage is the next best fix.
