Hey y'all, I'm very pleased to have this clean 4Runner as my DD now in MA after a 32+ hour drive down to get it a few weeks ago. I need help finding it's PO, I started a thread HERE and someone suggested I post up in the Upstate area just in case I can get any new leads.

I bought it from a guy in Aiken, but he didn't know a whole lot about it. The PO before him did most of the suspension, gearing, and motor work, so that is the guy I would like to contact before I start taking things apart and run into surprises.

The guy in Aiken bought it from a guy near West Columbia or Lexington around March of 2012. It was registered in W. Columbia from 2002 till 2012, the owner did a motor swap on it ('86 22RE, 60k miles) and trailered it to go wheeling, and was big into LandCruisers. He works at a security business or something like that.

There is some additional info in the other thread, but that's about all I know about the guy. I'd love to get in touch with him, it's the best place to start before I modify his setup - lower it, rehab brakes, rebuild axles, etc.

Thanks for any leads!

It's Jerry Peterson's old truck. I have no contact info for him anymore. Nice truck.

Last time I saw him was in the West Columbia area. He did indeed own a security company back then, which was about 4-5 years ago.

I talked to Jere this afternoon and got some good info that I needed to plan out projects. Front axle has been rebuilt, don't have to worry about that. Gears are 5.29 like I suspected. Stock axleshafts.

Motor had 280k on it when he sold it, so I need to double check into that because the seller told me it was a swapped 22RE with 60k, but the seller said Jere did the motor swap and Jere says he didn't. Someone miss-communicated, or I have a 280k motor. Compression is good and it runs great, so I'm not crying, but I'd like to know.

But thanks, y'all, for helping me out!

That's just what it was - his trail truck. Hauled it to Tellico a lot, sold it when Tellico closed.
