I'm trying to get cruise working on my 60 with 5.3/4L60 and have forgotten what I once remembered about the writing harness. Can any help me identify this group of wires? It's the unused wires in the dash and I'm hoping it's got the cruise control wires in it, but it doesn't line up with what LT1swap says for colors.

I'm bumping this hoping for some help. From what I can figure out from various sources, this is the cruise portion of the under the harness that makes it under the dash.

+12v - Pink
Set/Coast - Dark Blue
Resume-Accell - I've got one source that says green, one that says grey/black - I'm going with green.
Cruise On/Off - both sources say grey. Now I don't see a grey wire, I see a light blue wire - is that really a grey wire?

I'm also hoping that one of these is a 'cruise on' indicator.

Am I on the right track?

So, I solved this. When you call Howell they'll tell you that you get the color codes from the factory manual. Okay, did that, not making any sense. Get to the C2 connector on the Throttle Control Actuator and the colors are not the same. Call Howell -
Howell - Oh ya, we changed those.
Me - Well fxxx me. Can I get the color codes for the harness I have?
Howell - Well, they are factory colors.
Me - But you just told me they were changed.
Howell - Ya, we had to change those.
Me - can I get what you're looking at?

that went on for several minutes. Turns out they changed the colors of 2 of the 4 wires in the cruise control bundle (and from what I could see, quite a few others in the TAC module).

So I had what I needed in the cab the entire time, there was just no way to know that. Not very happy with Howell this morning.

So for 2005 Howell harness

The cruise one that supposed to be Grey is Brown w/ white strip
The resume/accell that supposed to be grey/black is light green
The stop lamp that supposed to be light blue is a kind of grey blue that is not at all obvious.

So, some additional information.

The light blue wire apparently has to be GND normally and +12 when the brakes are pressed, this takes a modern 4 connector brake switch or a relay. And if you have LED brake lights, the TAC can't get GND from there and it won't work.

Here's a diagram of how to wire a standard relay to accomplish that with a regular 2 connector brake switch which I found at ChevyTrucks. There were a lot of drawings that showed this done a lot of different ways.

In addition, the torque converter needs the same thing but reversed, so I'm working on a double pole, double throw relay that would let me feed both.

the understanding continues. I hope this is useful to someone one day.

Attached is a wiring diagram for a relay that will output correct torque converter unlock and correct cruise control output to the TAC from the brake pedal using only one standard automotive relay.

TCC needs +12 when the brake pedal IS NOT applied - pedal is up
It needs not to have +12 when the brake pedal is pressed, but it does not have to be grounded.
Cruise needs +12 when the pedal is pressed and GND when the pedal is up.
It's the GND that's hard to supply in a conversion. This relay setup does it right and does not rely on the ground from the brake lights being accessible (as they are not when using LED brake light bulbs).
