Help identifying broken electronic part under driver's side door frame (1 Viewer)

Anybody know what I'm looking at here? It seems like there's definitely a cover or something entirely missing..

Doesn't look factory to me. Rock lights control box? Tow related? GPS device?

I guess it could be from the light bar setup. It had aftermarket lights when I bought the vehicle but I had them rewired professionally not too long ago and nothing seems to be wrong with the current setup. I noticed it when I was under there changing out all the gear oil

That looks like a potential problem waiting to happen. I'd sort that quickly. Trace those wires and remove what's not needed (probably all of it).
