I know this Mastery Cylinder was changed by the PO. Curious as to what model it is and if it is going to work with my IFS calipers front and monte carlo rears. This is installed in my 72' FJ40. Thanks

That looks like an 80-series MC, or one from a V6 mini-truck, although those usually have the level sensor connector as a pigtail off the cap on the reservoir.

Looks very similar to the one I put on my 71 40 a few years back when I went to 4 wheel discs. I don't remember what year/specs I used to order mine. The reservior is shaped slightly different than mine. Yours has the low fluid sensor wire hookup molded into the side of the reservior while mine is in the cap. Going by the cast in numbers on yours I'd say yours is a 1" bore which is good. My brakes are very good! I put a Wilwood proportioning valve on mine so I could dial in how much braking I wanted in the rear. You will probably need to do so also to keep the rears from locking up too quick. Do you still have drum brakes up front? If so you will have a residual valve on your front system that will need to be removed when you do the front discs. You will appreciate not having to frequently adjust the drums.

Just finished mini truck brake conversion, it had fr disc brakes from JT Outfitters (Marginal at best) and a porportioning valve installed by the PO. So, thanks for the ID help. I have read that alot of people use the 1" bore with the bigger 4 piston 40mm IFS truck/4 runner calipers. Now I just gotta bleed all of em and test the Longfields with the front Aussie before my brother gets here (AZ) on this Wed. We Wheeel Rock You!!
