Could not find much help on the window lift motors on the forum. So I pulled the motor, and got online and compared lift motor shapes. I found that the lift motor for a toyota supra is the perfect fit for cheap. The golden brick 62 is not smart enough to know that the lift motor is for a sports car. Went down to the local vato zone and were in stock. Replace the passenger and the driver. Rolls up and down with a big difference.

Can you post up a part number or yr of supra or both?

I found in all the doors of my 62 that it wasn't the motor at fault for slow windows.

In fact, the window motors in these doors are quite strong little elecrtical motors...if you really want to know just how strong they are watch your hands & fingers in the scissor like regulator mechanism....guess how I know this!

Unless your window motor is actually fried, it is a pretty well known fact that worn, aged window channels are the main culprit in fj62 windows.

I wanted to chime in here, albeit on an old post, and thank chrs_mrnd for his suggestion on using a 1987 toyota supra window motor as a replacement to the elusive LC window motor. I was able to pick it up at autozone for $ 60 bucks. Its was a pain in the arse getting this thing in, and I had to rig bolts to it as the holes aligned but it had no threading and was slightly different in size but worked great. My drivers side window is also fast now.

So thanks again for a great suggestion. I couldnt go long without being able to roll down my window and enjoy the colder weather in my cruiser....

Is the Supra window motor any faster than the LC motor? As stated above it's usually the weather stripping that causes the slow windows.

I guess with it just being "new" it has more juice. Without cleaning anything the window is 30-40 percent faster. I cleaned the channels as I always do and it only helped it more.

How much were the supra motors?

I believe that the motors are the same for the 62 as they are for the 80 series ( I know cos I own one of each) and could possibly be the same in the passenger cars too. I'm chasing one for the LHF window but as soon as you mention Toyota the cost seems to go through the roof.
