HELP... electrical crap happening

So I had my whole instrument panel apart yesterday for about 3 hours, tracking an electrical problem that started with my fan pooping out and then my headlights not working. When I turn on the headlights or the heater fan switch (past the second speed) I got a buzzing sound which was tracked to a relay (90987-02006). I pulled the relay, still no lights or fan but the buzzing stops. I checked for loose grounds - nothing in sight at all.

I will go and get a relay today and see if this could fix the problem, but if there is any other advice, I would certainly appreciate input.

On an earlier thread, someone had mentioned the "A Pillar" - to look for ground wires / loose connections / etc. I looked in the FSM that I downloaded but the location of the pillar and wasn't able to find the location. Could someone tell me the proximity of the "A Pillar"?

the 'a' pillar is the pillar that the windshield is in. and has the front door hinges.
the 'b' pilar' is the second one back that has the front door striker on it, as well as the hinges for the rear doors.
the 'c' pillar is the third on back, it has the striker for the rear doors.

A ground block ( 15 to 20 wires in, one bigger out) is 'above' the bracket that bolts lower dash plat to body of rig on the A pillars. They're not easy to see, wrapped in black tape then wrapped to harness; not easy to get a hand on, tucked in tight places.
The starboard block is best accessed by removing glove box; port side is above relay / breaker block behind & below fuse area.

Thanks for the tips guys - I know what my Satruday project's going to be.

I stopped at the wrecker on the way home a half hour ago and picked up a relay - unfortunately still no change... the buzzing continues through the relay with a light show display to boot (signal light markers come on and stay on without blinking) when I turn on either the headlights or the heater fan switch...

Any more insight is greatly appreciated!
