Weird situation hoping someone here has run into this and has a fix.
While driving curvy mountain roads the abs/trac system activates as though it is trying to keep the vehicle from skidding out of control. Not driving super crazy. Usually happens on long sweeping turns at about 35-40mph and a little body pitch. Zero point cal has been reset with a factory tis several times. Other than this the truck is perfect
Stats on vehicle 2003 GX 2" lift, fox shocks with resi' front and rear. Dirt king Front UCA's. Eibach springs in the back with all the stock upper and lower trailing arms Running 285/70/17

Loose wheel bearing can cause wheel speed sensor to read intermittently and cause this issue. This is common to any car.

You need to use techstream and monitor:
1. All wheel speed sensor
2. Steering angle sensor
3. Yaw sensor
The skid control ECU use all those sensor to detect skid.

Something is getting reading out of tolerance and trigger the correction from VSA. How about rear bearing? Any build up around sensor can cause wrong reading too.

This would be my next step. Rear wheel bearings are good as well. Checked all of the sensors for debri.

Common on 100 series and 4th gen 4Runners. My 4Runner problem was a dying battery that caused electrical havoc. My 100 series was a combination of super soft shocks (early Fox 2.0's) and a zero point calibration needing to be done (affects the yaw sensor). I could get my '00 100 series to do it every time on a particular freeway transition ramp that was a combination of curves and dips. Very unnerving, but it cuts the accelerator at the same time so won't slam you into a wall.

Mine goes crazy due to no sway bars haha. I trigger the yaw sensor and VSC freaks out. I figured out how to add a switch and ground VSC at the 4WD ECU on my 03 GX so I can turn it off if I want to do "spirited driving" and then turn it back on when I am done.

Did you post a walkthrough on that switch install? This is something I would be interested in

I'm currently experiencing the exact same thing. Following thread to see what the results are. I have a feeling the techsteam scan will be the fix but cant be sure. I've come across how to make the switch for the VSC on/off but cant find it right now. I remember that it also turns of abs when you do this and have to turn the car off/on to reset and bring the abs/vsc back on. For now, i'd prefer it to be fixed and just functioning as normal.

I will be doing a test drive this week with the tech stream hooked up and recording the drive. I did a quick google search and found a few videos showing how to install an off switch for the vsc. Yes you will have to cycle the key to turn the vsc back on. I did this hack on Thursday. Super easy to do

Mine is specific to the 03 and 04. 05-09 are different.

hi all.... been a while since i've been on here, but thought i'd bump this thread up.

my '06 with dobinson's lift and 285/70r17 wildpeaks is experiencing same issue described here. it happened after i ran into a curb HARD and had to have a tie-rod and steering rack replaced. one shop replaced a hub and speed sensor, zero point calibration done... so most of the "duh" stuff has been tried. anyone have a smoking gun for this kind of thing???
