Hey y'all. I've searched around for info on the forum, but didn't find much. Found a lot of great info on SCS F5's, but why is it that people aren't running the Ray 10's on their 100's? Is it because you can only get the 5x150 in an 18x9? I assume if the folks on Ih8mud aren't using them, there has to be a good reason....What am I missing?

The lip that holds the center cap on needs to be machined off to allow fitment on a 100. They will not fit otherwise.

Thanks!! Since I am not (yet) mechanically inclined, I'm not sure what that means from a logistics standpoint. I will not be installing the new wheels and tires. Is this something a standard installer can do? Is this something that is done often? Are there long-term problems associated with doing something like this? Basically what I'm getting at is: Is the juice worth the squeeze, or should I just find something that fits the 100's perfectly. If timing weren't an issue, I would just buy some F5's (currently out of stock) and be done with it.

You would need a machine shop to machine that lip off. No long term problems beyond the fact that you couldn’t run the center caps(not a problem in my opinion, I prefer the no center cap look on a 100). Those Ray 10s look pretty BA if you ask me. I almost went that route.

Dayum...these were my first choice for new wheels.... ugh. Is this true for all the SCS wheels?

here's mine; don't mind the dirty truck; i'm still waiting for ben to ship me my dissent bumpers and roof rack. o_O

any machine shop can cut the lip for you; it's super easy. The offset pushes the wheel out just enough. I was looking into other options, including powder coating my OEM but wanted more offset. There is slight rubbing against the rear frontside plastic. Nothing noticeable.

go get them. no regrets. only other wheel design that i like is the tandem 612 but they don't make them for the lx470. They look amazing on the gx and 4runner.

I may have asked else where, but with the ray10's if you run a wheel spacer, say 1-1/4", do you think would still need to machine the lip to get the center cap on?

They would clear no problem with the spacer but then you’d have an offset of -6.75mm which means your wheel would be hanging way out past the fender increasing rubbing

Some of the guys used 10mm sandwich spacers (they do not bolt on) to clear rock warrior wheels so that may be an option

Yea that makes sense, I wonder if there is someone out there that has done this already, I hate 10 drop $1k and not know for sure. Also, where can longer studs be sourced if using the sandwich spacer?

Know this thread has been live for a bit, but @jerebear21 or @Haring Bagsik , do you have any issues with rubbing in the wheelwells when flexed or turning with the offset. Running a 100 with 2.5 in lift, 275/70/18. I have the same SCS wheels on a 4runner - love them.

I actually did with the plastic fender liner and weld. I had to pound it flat and trim the plastic fender lining.
